about

This song originally appears on Kamikaze Cowboy's album "Down in America" - This is the period of my songwriting where i was like at a peak of my craft. for one thing I had not yet become sickened by the pretentions of the whole genre. I didnt want to become one of those bores who equated writing a song to working on a novel. I worked so hard at trying to say what I needed to say in as artful way as I could without losing the earthiness of what playing songs on a box guitar is suposed to be about. This song has become one of my standards - people like the flow of it and i got to talk about how I wanted to stay grounded in the dirt.
